Askya AI Growth Platform Supports Next Generation of African Tech Leaders
African venture capital firm Askya Investment Partners has announced the launch of its pan-continental Askya AI Growth Platform, designed to help artificial intelligence startups scale into enduring enterprises. The program provides up to $200,000 in investment with no equity taken from participating companies.
The initiative is led by founder and managing partner Babacar Seck, former CEO of Digital Africa and founding member of Proparco’s pan-African venture capital program. Askya aims to help startups achieve product-market fit and accelerate commercial growth through a comprehensive six-week hybrid program that includes masterclasses, one-on-one coaching, and company-building support from experienced African founders and operators.
The inaugural cohort will feature 10 AI-native startups focused on solving African challenges, ranging from pre-seed to Series A stages. In addition to funding, participants gain access to cloud resources, compute power, potential customers, and talent networks.
“AI is rapidly becoming a key driver of economic development,” said Seck. “Africa can either become a producer of AI technology or remain an importer – we’re backing founders who will build generational AI companies that address our continent’s biggest needs.” The program has been honorary chaired by Tosin Eniolorunda, founder and group CEO of Moniepoint.
Applications for the inaugural cohort are open until September 30th. This represents a significant opportunity for African AI startups to access capital and mentorship without diluting their equity.
