ChipMango Raises $1.9M Seed Round for Global Expansion

Nigerian startup ChipMango has announced a successful US$1.9 million seed funding round, positioning the company as a key player in addressing the growing global demand for semiconductor talent.

Addressing Critical Skills Gap

Founded in 2022 by Ola Fadiran and Jovan Andjelich, ChipMango partners with leading chip manufacturers to deliver industry-aligned learning programs that bridge the skills gap in microelectronics. Their AI-powered platform offers custom labs and curated content for educators seeking to modernize their curriculum.

The seed round was led by Atlantica Ventures, with significant participation from DFS Labs, Madica, Kaleo Ventures, Trilinear Technologies, and Malta Ventures.

Strategic Expansion Plans

ChipMango intends to use the funding to:

  • Expand its engineering and product teams
  • Establish a design center in Malta (supported by Malta Ventures)
  • Support semiconductor workforce development initiatives in Rwanda
  • Grow operations across Africa, Europe, and the United States

Meeting Global Demand

The investment comes at a critical time as demand for semiconductor expertise surges worldwide. ChipMango aims to unlock opportunities for emerging markets to participate in higher-value segments of technology supply chains.

“The next era of AI will not be defined by software alone,” said Fadiran, co-founder of ChipMango. “It will depend on who can design the chips, systems and intelligent hardware that power it.” He added that ChipMango is working to expand access to these capabilities globally.

Anikó Szigetvári, founding partner at Atlantica Ventures, noted that ChipMango’s ability to convert African engineering talent into production-ready chip design capability sets it apart. “We believe it can become foundational infrastructure for the next generation of smart devices and semiconductor IP,” she stated.
