Nigeria’s Codar Raises $1.5 Million to Expand Tech Training Initiatives

Edtech startup Codar has announced a successful funding round of $1.5 million, comprising both equity and debt financing. The investment will fuel the company’s mission to bridge Africa’s digital skills gap by expanding its AI and tech training programs.

The Nigeria-based Codar was founded by David Sokefun, Williams Olusegun, John Oduoye, and Emmanuel Asaolu. It offers project-based courses in high-demand fields like artificial intelligence, software development, cybersecurity, data analytics, and cloud computing.

Strategic Funding Allocation

The new funding will be strategically allocated to:

  • Expand AI training programs across the continent
  • Enhance Codar’s online learning platform with interactive features
  • Establish physical learning hubs in key cities
  • Increase scholarship opportunities for underserved communities

Currently, Codar serves over 5,000 active learners and has reached more than 70,000 students through its various programs. The company aims to address the critical shortage of digital talent in Africa’s rapidly growing tech sector.

With this investment, Codar is well-positioned to become a leading provider of practical, industry-relevant tech training that empowers Africans with the skills needed for the future workforce.
