After five years of waiting, Family Bank is finally approved to list on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). This marks a significant moment for Kenya’s financial sector as more companies embrace public listings.
Family Bank, a tier-two lender with KES 230.3 billion ($1.78 billion) in assets, received regulatory approval to offer its shares to the public. The listing is expected to boost liquidity and provide investors with greater access to Family Bank’s financial performance.
The bank has been working towards this milestone since 2019 but faced several delays due to market conditions and internal restructuring. With the current favorable economic outlook, Family Bank believes now is the right time for its public debut.
