Four Nigerian Companies Selected for Prestigious Program

Four promising tech startups from Nigeria—Bani, MasteryHive AI, Regxta, and Termii—have been chosen to participate in the 10th cohort of Google’s Accelerator Africa program. This marks a significant achievement as these companies were selected from nearly 2,600 applicants across the continent, representing less than 1% acceptance rate.

The four Nigerian startups will join a total of 15 companies in this cohort, making Nigeria the most represented country. These businesses are focused on developing AI-powered solutions to address critical challenges in Africa’s financial infrastructure.

Addressing Key Financial Pain Points

  • Bani is tackling cross-border payment delays by building infrastructure that enables faster transactions for African businesses trading globally
  • MasteryHive AI automates essential processes like transaction reconciliation, fraud detection, and anti-money laundering monitoring for financial institutions
  • Regxta uses alternative data to assess creditworthiness and extend financial products to unbanked micro-businesses often overlooked by traditional lenders
  • Termii provides reliable communications infrastructure ensuring critical messages—like payment OTPs and fraud alerts—reach users consistently

Early Success Stories

According to Gbolade Emmanuel, CEO of Termii, the program has already proven valuable within its first week. “The Google Startup Accelerator is helping us accelerate our AI roadmap and scale globally,” he noted.

Folarin Aiyegbusi, Head of Startup Ecosystem for Africa at Google, highlighted the significance of this cohort: “African startups are driving essential economic growth and social development. Our role is to provide them with technical infrastructure, mentorship, and a global network to amplify their impact.”

The three-month hybrid program will run from April 13 to June 19, 2026, offering all participants access to expert mentors, AI/ML workshops, and resources to prepare for future funding rounds.
