Nigerian Tech Firms Secure Spots in Google’s Prestigious Startup Accelerator

Four promising technology startups from Nigeria – Bani, MasteryHive AI, Regxta, and Termii – have been selected for the 10th cohort of Google’s Accelerator Africa program. The announcement highlights Nigeria’s growing digital ecosystem as these companies emerged from a pool of nearly 2,600 applications across the continent.

The selected Nigerian startups are leveraging artificial intelligence to address critical challenges in various sectors:

  • Bani: Building cross-border payment infrastructure to eliminate settlement delays for African businesses
  • MasteryHive AI: Developing an AI platform for transaction reconciliation, fraud detection, and AML monitoring
  • Regxta: Combining data-driven credit scoring with a distribution model to reach unbanked microbusinesses
  • Termii: Creating reliable communication infrastructure for financial messaging using AI

The Google for Startups Accelerator Africa program provides startups with technical support, mentorship, and access to industry experts. With an acceptance rate of less than 1%, this year’s cohort represents the most competitive group yet.

“At Termii, we’re building AI-powered infrastructure that ensures financial transactions don’t fail,” said CEO Gbolade Emmanuel. “The Google Startup Accelerator is helping us accelerate our roadmap and scale globally.”

The 13-week program will run from April 13th to June 19th, 2026, offering hands-on workshops focused on AI and machine learning.

Since its launch in 2018, the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa has supported over 100 startups, empowering them to raise more than $263 million collectively. The program underscores Google’s commitment to fostering innovation across the African continent.
