Digital Infrastructure Investment in Nigeria Set to Grow

Digital Parks Africa (DPA), in partnership with Master Power Technologies Group, announced the development of a new carrier-neutral data centre in Lagos, Nigeria. The facility, named Nigeria Data Centre 1 (NDC1), represents a significant expansion for DPA into West Africa and underscores the growing demand for robust digital infrastructure across the continent.

The timing aligns with Nigeria’s burgeoning technology sector, which is seeing increased adoption of financial services, cloud solutions, connectivity options, and data-intensive applications. NDC1 will offer businesses a more resilient platform to support critical digital operations as these demands continue to rise.

Addressing Unique African Challenges

DPA highlighted its understanding of the specific challenges operating in Nigeria and across Africa. The facility is designed with enhanced resilience measures to ensure operational continuity in demanding environmental conditions, providing clients with greater protection for their data and services.

This expansion builds on DPA’s existing presence in Nigeria dating back to 2001, marking a strategic evolution from power solutions to comprehensive data centre services. The announcement was made at ITW Africa in Kenya on September 8, 2026.

Meeting International Standards

DPA engaged Uptime Institute for Tier IV Certification assessment, demonstrating a commitment to global best practices and operational resilience. Tarik Bahanniss from Uptime Institute noted that the collaboration reflects DPA’s focus on developing infrastructure around recognized industry standards.
