Fincart Raises $2.8 Million to Power E-commerce Growth in Africa

Egyptian startup Fincart has closed a $2.8 million seed round to fuel its expansion across Africa and the Middle East. The company, which provides an AI-powered operating system for e-commerce merchants, received funding from Launch Africa (co-lead), Antler MENAP (co-lead), Yango Ventures, Five35 Ventures, Bluestream Capital, Hi2 Global, Kalahari Venture Labs, and other investors.

From Logistics to Merchant Empowerment

Fincart initially started as a logistics management platform but has since pivoted to address the broader needs of e-commerce businesses. Recognizing that merchants often juggle multiple software solutions for shipping, customer service, marketing, and payments, Fincart consolidated these functions into a single AI-powered platform.

“Everything we build starts with understanding where merchants are losing time, money, or customers,” explained Nihal Ali, co-founder and CEO. “We built Fincart to replace all of that with a control panel where they can sell more, deliver faster, and manage customers without the friction of using multiple tools.”

Addressing Market Opportunities

The Egyptian e-commerce market is projected to reach $20.15 billion by 2031, creating significant opportunities for startups building digital infrastructure. Fincart aims to capitalize on this growth by offering a comprehensive solution that includes:

  • Logistics management with connections to over 40 shipping providers
  • Embedded financing options like short-term cash advances
  • AI-powered customer engagement tools
  • Automated shipping and payment reconciliation

Traction and Future Plans

Fincart has already onboarded more than 450 merchants, processing nearly EGP 1 billion (over $20 million) in merchandise value through its platform. The new funding will be used to scale the commercial and tech teams, invest in product development, and expand into new markets starting in 2027.

“With this investment, we’ll deepen our partnerships, enhance our AI capabilities, and accelerate our growth across Africa and the Middle East,” said Mostafa Masry, co-founder and CEO of Fincart.
