A Rising Star in African Cybersecurity

Eniola Peace Adenuga, a Cybersecurity Analyst at First Bank of Nigeria, exemplifies the growing number of women making significant contributions to technology across Africa. With over three years in the industry, Eniola’s journey spans data center operations, IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and financial technology.

From Data Centers to Enterprise Security

Eniola’s experience working in a data center provided invaluable hands-on knowledge of critical infrastructure and operational processes. This foundation enabled her to contribute directly to strengthening security measures and improving access management at First Bank—one of Nigeria’s largest financial institutions with international operations.

“Being part of such a large and complex organization has allowed me to work on technology and security challenges at an enterprise and international scale,” Eniola noted. Her responsibilities extend to safeguarding sensitive data and ensuring the reliability of systems that support millions of customers across multiple markets.

Continuous Learning & Future Vision

Eniola holds a Computer Science degree and professional certifications including ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, CompTIA Security+, and Microsoft SC-300. She’s passionate about staying ahead of emerging threats through continuous learning.

Beyond her technical expertise, Eniola envisions solutions to address critical challenges within the cybersecurity industry. She proposes creating a platform that provides clear career pathways, mentorship, practical projects, and job access for aspiring professionals—particularly women seeking to enter this high-demand field.

“I’d love to make it easier for people starting in cybersecurity to find their path,” Eniola explained. “Helping beginners move from learning the basics to building successful careers would be incredibly rewarding.”

Inspiration & Impact

Eniola draws inspiration from industry leaders like Funke Opeke, founder of MainOne—a company that expanded digital infrastructure across Africa. Like Opeke, Eniola aims to leverage technology not only for security but also as a tool for empowerment and creating opportunities for others.
