Bridging the Data Gap: New Platform Unifies African Capital Market Intelligence

Nigeria-based startup Mansa Markets has launched a comprehensive platform providing real-time stock market data from across Africa’s major exchanges in a single terminal. Founded earlier this year by Precious Okike, the platform aims to address the underserved nature of African capital markets with modern, accessible intelligence.

The Mansa Markets terminal offers full coverage of seven key exchanges — Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania, and Ivory Coast — alongside index data for additional countries including Egypt and Morocco. Users gain access to live stock prices, market indices, sector performance analysis, corporate disclosures, cryptocurrency pricing in local currencies, and foreign exchange rates.

Filling a Critical Need

The platform’s development was driven by the belief that African markets deserve comparable data infrastructure to what’s standard in developed economies. Existing institutional solutions like Bloomberg Terminal and Refinitiv carry prohibitive costs for most retail investors and smaller institutions across Africa.

“The platform was designed from the ground up to serve retail investors, developers, and institutions with accessible, modern market intelligence,” Okike explained. “African capital markets are severely underserved by accessible data infrastructure - we’re aiming to change that.”

The Mansa Brief, a weekly newsletter summarizing activity across all tracked exchanges, complements the terminal offering.

Early Momentum & Future Vision

Mansa Markets has organically built an audience of investors and developers with zero paid marketing. The startup reports particularly strong interest from developers seeking API access to build financial applications for African markets.

Currently bootstrapped, Mansa Markets plans to expand coverage to all 38 African stock exchanges, becoming the definitive data source for anyone engaging with these markets - from individual investors to institutional clients and AI systems.
