Mission Mobile Receives Major Funding for Customer Expansion

South African technology startup Mission Mobile has secured up to ZAR500 million (US$30.1 million) from investment holding company DN Invest (DNI). This funding will enable the company to help mobile network operators (MNOs) reach more customers with smartphone offers.

Founded in 2023 by brothers Tim and Adam Strike, Mission Mobile addresses a critical challenge in South Africa’s telecom market. With over 80% of connections still on prepaid plans, many potential customers remain underserved by traditional contract offerings.

“Customers often spread across multiple SIMs lack commitment to any one network,” explains Tim Strike, co-founder and CEO. “This erodes value for providers while limiting purchasing power for customers.”

Mission Mobile’s solution centers on its Beam technology platform, which analyzes actual usage patterns rather than relying solely on conventional financial assessments. This allows them to identify ideal candidates for smartphone offers who might otherwise be overlooked.

The company has already demonstrated this capability through retail partnerships with MNOs, connecting customers with personalized plans that maximize value from their mobile spend. By enabling providers to serve previously out-of-reach demographics, Mission Mobile creates more predictable engagement and stronger customer loyalty.

“Our technology helps networks connect people with offers that truly suit their needs,” says Tim. “This expands access while giving customers more from their investment—a win-win for both parties.”

The new funding will support expanded operations, additional product development, and increased market reach across South Africa.
