Synapse Analytics Raises $13 Million Series A for AI-Powered Financial Risk Platform
Egypt-based Synapse Analytics, an enterprise AI platform serving financial institutions, has closed a $13 million Series A funding round. The investment was led by Paris-based Partech, with participation from Algebra Ventures and Silicon Badia.
Founded in 2018 by Ahmed Abaza and Galal Elbeshbishy, Synapse Analytics provides AI decisioning infrastructure for critical financial functions including credit scoring, customer onboarding, fraud prevention, anti-money laundering (AML), and portfolio management. The platform is designed to integrate with existing IT environments - whether on-premises, private clouds, or even air-gapped networks - addressing data sovereignty concerns common in highly regulated industries.
With this Series A, Synapse has now raised a total of $17 million across multiple funding rounds. The company currently serves banks, fintechs, and other financial institutions throughout the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
Strategic Use of Funds
The new investment will fuel several key initiatives:
- Expanding engineering and commercial teams to support growing demand
- Accelerating product development with a focus on advanced AI capabilities
- Strengthening international distribution channels in target markets
Synapse’s flexible deployment options and commitment to data sovereignty position it well for continued growth as financial institutions across emerging markets prioritize digital transformation while navigating complex regulatory landscapes.
