Visa Launches Sixth Cohort of Africa Fintech Accelerator

As the program celebrates supporting over 100 startups with a combined valuation exceeding $1.4 billion, Visa is seeking innovative fintech solutions from across Africa for its latest cohort.

The application deadline for Cohort 6 is May 17, 2026, offering entrepreneurs access to mentorship, strategic guidance, and Visa’s global network.

Successful Alumni Network Drives Growth

Recent Demo Day showcased the program’s impact with 18 high-growth startups from 10 African countries presenting their solutions. Several alumni have already forged significant partnerships:

  • Zazu (Cohort 4) and Chari (Cohort 1) are collaborating in Morocco on a new SME neobank offering.
  • Credable (Cohort 3) is expanding its digital credit propositions across multiple markets with Visa partner Onafriq.
  • Kredete (Cohort 3) launched a stablecoin-linked card and is targeting expansion into the GCC region.
  • MoneyHash (Cohort 3) secured a multi-year partnership to enable Visa’s Cybersource platform for merchants in the MENA region

Building Collaborative Ecosystems

The Visa Africa Fintech Accelerator emphasizes long-term partnerships between alumni, strategic partners, and Visa itself. The program aims to foster collaboration that expands financial access and shapes digital commerce across the continent.

“What makes Africa’s fintech story so powerful is the growing spirit of partnership,” said Godfrey Sullivan, head of product and solutions at Visa CEMEA. “As we support more than 100 startups, we’re seeing firsthand how collaboration can unlock new opportunities and drive meaningful impact.”
